18-year-old Lance Carroll, who last year attended Love in Action's Refuge program with Zach Stark, will joined in on Monday's protest of the Memphis-based "change" program. The QAC quotes Carroll,I am attending the protest in reaction to my own horrendous experience last summer, and as an opportunity to voice my personal opinions concerning the Love in Action Refuge program...while I was there, it just seemed to make people more depressed and self-loathing than they already were. I, myself, went through several of these depressive periods. The QAC writes a lovely and moving post FORMER REFUGE CLIENT RETURNS TO MEMPHIS A YEAR LATER...
Wayne Besen, author of Anything But Straight--Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth, today announced the launch of a new organization called Truth Wins Out, which will attempt to " to combat so-called "Ex-Gay" ministries and organizations". It will be exciting to see what Wayne and those who join him in this effort do to counter the rhetoric in the Focus on the Family sponsored anti gay youth, Love Won Out conferences.

Lance Carroll = An Inspiration :)
I can understand why you identify with Lance. May he and you continue to successfully oppose the untruths being unloaded on an ill-informed public.
BTW... thanks for reminding me of that book: Anything But Straight. I really have to go pick up a copy and read it for myself, I heard it was a very informative read.
